About Marquis and Why He Started Green Spaceship 

Marquis, the founder of Green Spaceship, was born in Flint, Michigan, and grew up as an Army dependent, living a life of discipline and adaptability. He proudly served in the United States Army as a Biomedical Equipment Repairman, where he developed a strong sense of service and problem-solving skills. 

After his military service, Marquis embarked on a diverse career journey, gaining experience as a realtor, car salesman, barber, and small business owner of a cleaning company. He attended the Class A Barber Program in San Antonio, Texas, honing his craft and demonstrating his dedication to learning new skills and serving others. 

Marquis also pursued higher education, earning a Business Accounting Specialist certification and an MBA, and is just a few credits shy of a Master’s in Accounting and Financial Management. A self-proclaimed career student, Marquis has always embraced continuous learning and self-improvement. 

Before founding Green Spaceship, Marquis worked as a Supervisor in the Clinical Engineering department of a large cancer center. During this time, a course in his Master’s program sparked a realization: many individuals and small business owners lacked access to essential financial knowledge and services.

Reflecting on his journey, Marquis understood the transformative power of financial literacy—not just for making money but for retaining, managing, and protecting it to achieve long-term success. 

This insight became the foundation for Green Spaceship. Marquis is on a mission to ensure individuals, families, and small businesses have access to financial tools and services tailored to their unique needs—not dictated by the interests of large corporations. His passion lies in empowering others to thrive financially and create lasting stability.

Outside of his professional life, Marquis enjoys spending time with his family and helping others in any way he can. He’s passionate about muscle cars, RC cars, fitness, traveling, cooking, and all things fun. Always seeking balance, Marquis combines his love for learning with his enthusiasm for life and service. He’s also pursuing a teaching certification to inspire and uplift the next generation within his local school district.
